§ 34-34. Responsibility for administration.

Latest version.
  • The overall responsibility for the alcohol and controlled substance policy lies with the office of the board of commissioners or its designee. Drug tests and any other expenditures for program costs will be approved by the personnel office, subject to funds being annually appropriated therefor. Although these programs cost money to implement, they should prove to be cost effective if they eradicate alcohol and controlled substance abuse among all employees. As used in the policy, the term "controlled substance" shall have the meaning and include the substances defined as controlled substances in the Georgia Controlled Substances Act, O.C.G.A. § 16-13-20 et seq., and particularly O.C.G.A. § 16-13-21(4), as such provisions shall now appear or hereafter be amended.
