§ 50-36. Requirements.

  • The following shall be required when performing work on county rights-of-way:

    (1)

    Construction will be coordinated so as not to impede traffic.

    (2)

    Certified traffic control will be provided, if needed, at the cost of the applicant, for safety purposes and for the steady flow of traffic.

    (3)

    Metal plates will be placed over any cut in the pavement as needed to provide for the continuous flow of traffic until the pavement is repaired.

    (4)

    All paving repairs shall be done to state department of transportation standards via "Class A Pavement Replacement". (See drawing attached to the ordinance from which this section is derived.)

    (5)

    If a road is cut, the applicant shall hire an independent person or legal entity to test the compaction of the repair, and shall furnish to the county the name and address of such person or legal entity, and shall direct the person or legal entity to furnish the county with the compaction reports.

    (6)

    Cuts on the shoulder of the road shall be filled, refilled and maintained for one year after the work is completed so as to ensure proper fill and compaction. If after one year additional fill is needed, the applicant shall perform the work at the applicant's expense.

    (7)

    If the area of the right-of-way disturbed is over 100 square feet in area, in any one location, and other than a narrow cut (less than ten inches), the applicant shall comply with the soil and erosion requirements.

    (8)

    A detailed drawing showing the location of the utility shall be attached to the application. Any and all changes will be furnished to the county.
